Teen Actor Brad Renfro Arrested
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- ``The Client'' actor Brad Renfro may have
real legal problems. He has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of
possessing cocaine and marijuana.
Renfro, 15, was released on $500 bond from a juvenile detention center,
The Knoxville News-Sentinel reported today. As of Wednesday, he had
not been charged with anything.
Renfro was a passenger in a car that was stopped by police early
Wednesday. A search revealed he was carrying a white powdery
substance and what appeared to be marijuana, said Richard Bean,
superintendent of the East Tennessee Regional Juvenile Service Center.
Renfro denied that he was arrested.
The car's 19-year-old driver, Mark S. Singleton, was charged with
marijuana possession and driving under the influence and was released on
$1,500 bond.
Renfro co-starred with Tommy Lee Jones and Susan Sarandon in the
1993 film about a streetwise youth who seeks out help from a lawyer in a
murder case with mob and political complications.
